The Russell County 4-7 yr old T ball allstars are from what I hear, the team to beat. Players to watch are Lil' Jimmy Hoogle. A great player to have in the infield, he alone has gotten rid of all the rocks and glass in the infield. Timmy Risenoff the 7 yr old that looks 12. His Mom is so proud of his league leading 12 inside the park home runs that she has pretty much told everyone that will listen at the ballfield. Funny, I was at McDonalds the other day and heard someone bragging about that kids dominance over the 4 yr olds. And lets not forget the lil ladies.... Sarah Kindercrank. She is something to watch. You might get an inning and a half out of her before she heads to the bleachers to see her Nana and Papaw.
I really dont see any team in SW Va. being able to play with them.

The GC t-ballers plan on giving them a run for their money. They have mastered defensive strategy: first, put your best player at pitcher and next best players on either side of the pitcher. Next, let the other team load the bases. Then, when the ball comes to the pitcher or an assistant pitcher, its a footrace to beat the runner on 3rd to home. Any balls hit past the pitcher or assistant pitcher are the responsibility of the "great herd of fielders" who move swiftly to the ball then throw it randomly. Bring it on, Russell County!

LOL my daughter was in tee ball this year and that is SO true except you left out the part where the "great herd of fielders" trampel each other before the strongest of the group comes out of the pile with the ball thus earning the right to randomley throw it LOL

Re: 11-12 All Stars Girls and Boys

Now you will have to remember. The Russell County allstars have been having 2 a day practices for the last 2 weeks. Plus they have home field advantage. All the good pickings are gone from the infield. So all the teams that come will be distracted looking for the rocks and glass that our kids have already discovered and tossed into the outfield.
The parents have bought the minimum 3 T shirts with their lil darlings names and number on the back, the magnetic sticker to affix to their car, all the cars in Russell county have their windows painted with their favorite allstar. The teams spirit is overflowing and I dare say that no team will beat us!!!!!
Plans have been discussed to take this team on the road after the allstars. We are currently seeking teams from other areas to play in weekend tournaments. We only ask that at 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM be set aside for nap time.

Re: 11-12 All Stars Girls and Boys

For all of you that have heard about the points shaving scandle at our LL involving the T-Ball league championship game. We have concluded that the league president is at fault and has been asked to resign. His motive was that he wanted the coveted T ball trophy that was to be awarded to the team with the best record. I'll try and bring all of you up to date on this matter.

It all started at tryouts. It seems that the pres decided to load up his team with older kids. Reason being, his kid is 7 1/2. He implemented a new rule that would allow the scoreboard to be on with contineous batting order. Midway through the season a parent started noticing that points for the opponents were not being put up on the scoreboard. An arguement insued and blows were exchanged between the pres and parent of team that was being cheated. A board meeting was called and it was decided that the president would forfeit the games played. He promptly hired an attorney and threatened to sue the LL because his wife felt that this matter would affect his son ability to be recruited in college. At this point we are awaiting a trial date. The new president assured me that this would not affect the All Star team and the All star tournament is still on.

That's pathetic when a President of LL goes to extreme measures just to get a trophy. Talk about childish!!
    Which LL is this?
